Ahead of the coming election, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said he would not like to see daughter Sara “Inday” Duterte-Carpio and son Paolo “Pulong” Duterte locked in battle for the city’s top post in 2016.
Duterte is being pushed to run for President and if he takes the challenge, will have to field Pulong, the sitting vice mayor, or Inday Sara, former city mayor.
Duterte, who heads the ruling local party Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod, will also have to choose his successor if he drops a presidential run and opts to retire from politics in 2016.
I don’t want to see them fighting, said Duterte over Pulong’s declaration he would run for Mayor if Duterte runs for President.
Duterte said he would be talking with Pulong and Inday Sara to discuss the 2016 election to avoid a potemtial clash between the two in the mayoral race.
