The government-owned National Development Corporation (NDC) is carving out 5 hectares out of 24 hectares of government property in Toril for the Davao City Food Terminal.
The food terminal project is covered by a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) involving NDC, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on the project that would rise in the former Daratex property in Daliao that has been taken over by NDC.
Under the MOA, NDC would lease out the land for 15 years, the DTI to provide funding and the Davao City Government to manage and operate the completed food terminal.
As envisioned, the food terminal would have a trading center and processing plants.
The Davao City food terminal will be implemented under the Agri Pinoy Trading Center (APTC) program of the national government that aims to increase farmers’ income and perk up the agriculture sector.
