The gathering which drew an estimated 10,000 supporters served as a welcome event to the “Run Duterte Run” caravan which arrived in the city Friday after traversing, Visayas and Mindanao.
More than 3,000 vehicles joined the caravan organized by the nationwide network of “Duterte for President” groups.

The anticipation was at the highest that Duterte would make the announcement at the gathering attended by supporters and leaders from nationwide of various groups pushing Duterte to run for the presidency in 2016.
But the political orgasm was not complete.
50-50, Duterte told the crowd, saying that his family remains solid in opposing his entry into the presidential derby for health reasons.
“I need time to talk to my family because they are the ones who know about my health condition,” he said.
He said he hoped that the massive support, referring to the huge crowd that gathered at Rizal Park, would help convince his family.
Duterte however elated the crowd when he said he is now tilting towards running despite saying there is a fifty-fifty chance he would make the dash.
I want to. I have been mayor for 22 years but I want to serve the people even in my old age, he said.
But still, he said that retirement is an option he is looking to.
