COMELEC CLEARS WAY FOR DUTERTE PRESIDENTIAL RUN

DISQUALIFICATION

CASES DROPPED

The Commission on Election (Comelec) dismissed on February 3 four disqualification cases filed against Rodrigo Duterte, clearing the way for the Davao City Mayor’s entry in the presidential derby in May.

Duterte is the standard bearer of the PDP-Laban Party with Senator Alan Peter  Cayetano as his running mate.

“From the very start, we are very confident that Mayor Duterte will surmount these bogus disqualification cases. It is a clear triumph over the forces of disorder who are afraid of the radical change Mayor Duterte symbolizes,” said the camp of Duterte ana Cayetano in a statement.

“This is a victory for everyone who seeks change; those tired of the “continuing disorder, lack of security, and equal opportunitiesm.”

“Their voices cannot be denied anymore. With this legal hurdle surpassed, Mayor Duterte and his running mate Senator Alan Peter Cayetano will certainly carry their voices as they strengthen their campaign platform to present their bold solutions and swift actions to the public’s everyday struggles.

“We believe that the struggle for real change is a collective endeavor wherein the people are the masters of their own destiny. Thus, Mayor Duterte and Senator Cayetano will need the help and support of all those who are longing for genuine change,” the statement added.

“They cannot do it alone. But with the grace of God and the people’s support, Mayor Duterte and Sen. Cayetano will lead us in building a more humane and peaceful society, achieving inclusive growth through regional development, and equality under the law.”
