Stress from the deadly Roxas Avenue Night Market bombing on September 2 that killed 14 people and injured 70 others has taken a serious physical toll on Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio.
Inday Sara said she lost two of triplets she was carrying in pregnancy.
The Mayor personally announced the bad news in her speech at turnover ceremony for the new commander of Task Force Davao Col. Erwin Bernard Neri who replaced Col. Henry Robinson, on Thursday, September 7 at the base of the special anti-terrorist Army unit at Sta. Ana wharf.
Inday Sara said her doctor informed her Monday after a medical check-up that two of the triplets lost heartbeats. The other one is “still fighting for life,” she said.
“When I went for a check-up last Monday, the doctor said (two of the triplets) don’t have heartbeats anymore,” sadly said Inday Sara.
The bad news of her loss came three days after the Night Market blast.
She had earlier been advised by her doctor to go easy after her triple pregnancy was discovered.
Despite her delicate condition and the advice of her doctor to avoid physical stress, Inday Sara was all over attending to survivors and visiting wakes in the aftermath of the blast.
